Oct 15th status
by Aravindh Puthiyaparambil
Hi folks,
Worked with Rudolph on (Backend) Push pfdcm container fs data into ChRIS
swift fs. <https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ultron_backEnd/issues/222>
Discovered that that data was not present on the
orthanc-fnndsc/persistent-db
<https://github.com/FNNDSC/orthanc-fnndsc/tree/persistent-db> branch.
Rudolph helped with uploading data onto the VM to help move things forward,
however the bandwidth on the Azure VM was pretty minimal so the process
took a long time. At the end of the day we were able to see the data on the
orthanc website. Now the environment is setup to actually start development.
Cheers,
Aravindh

STATUS OVERVIEW:
===============
TOTAL: 28 volunteers
ACTIVE: 10
NEEDS ATTENTION: 6
INACTIVE: 4
WAITING ON: 1 + 7 new recruits (who were just emailed with next steps to
complete :) )
Here's an expanded run down of these counts to make clear what each
category means:
We have 10 active contributors who have provided a recent status either
via email, this list, or by attending status meetings.
We have 6 contributors who have been working on projects, but whom we
have not heard from a while or who need help troubleshooting past a
blockage.
We have 4 inactive contributors who are unable to actively participate
right now, either due to high priority work obligations or other situations.
We have 8 contributors who we are waiting on to complete assigned tasks
or check-ins.
ACTIVE STATUSES:
==============
- Aravindh Puthiyaparambil is working on getting pfdcm container
filesystem data pushed into the ChRIS swift filesystem. He needs some
help getting started, so he has time scheduled with Rudolph on October
15th during his regular team hack day to work on this task. Ticket:
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ultron_backEnd/issues/222
- Max Murakami is working on evaluating moving the system configuration
from docker-compose to k8s or mini-kube. He was stuck a bit getting his
set up tested, and attended last week's ChRIS stand up meeting and
Rudolph was able to give him some tips on debugging the issue, he has
pushed past the issue and is making more progress. Ticket:
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ultron_backEnd/issues/228
- Pratik Jagrut is looking at a task to evaluate moving system
configuration from docker to podman. He plans to start taking a look
this week. Ticket: https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ultron_backEnd/issues/227
- Jun Aruga has been an overall amazing asset to this project :) He has
been helping onboard new volunteers and collect statuses and resolve
issues for volunteers, and has been researching better ways to project
manage the team. Thank you *so much* for your incredible effort, Jun!
- Anuj Singla has been working on a lot of front end issues for us. Most
recently he fixed a bug on the public ChRIS store website that was
merged this morning: https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_store_ui/pull/100
He also has been working on the ChRIS store frontend and I am working
with him to update the UI mockups to address some issues we ran into
along the way: https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_store_ui/pull/89
- Willian Rampazzo has been consulting with Jun on some project
management structure decisions. He is also looking at
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ultron_backEnd/issues/231
- Lisa Knight put together a much-improved set of copy for the front
page of chrisproject.org. It is on my backlog to update the live site
with her work, hopefully this week.
- Jaime Ramírez implemented a long-wishlisted item, the functionality
for starring plugins in the ChRIS store front end, his PR was merged.
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_store_ui/pull/95
- Alana Fialkoff is working with our COVID-Net colleagues to be added to
the COVID-Net on ChRIS UI user research study ethics agreement, and she
is also getting started putting together a UX testing plan for the
PACSquery UI design myself and Rudolph have been working on.
- Bill Rainford has taken lead on CI/CD for the project and is
evaluating different CI/CD systems (probably Circle) and is planning to
roll out with the CI/CD volunteers soon.
NEEDS ATTENTION:
===============
- Abdullah Sikder has been working on exposing image thumbnails to the
front end and is a bit stuck and could use some technical advice. See
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_ui/issues/100
- Astrid Sharpe is waiting on Rudolph to help her make some initial
contacts for the hospital COVID-Net on ChRIS user research study
recruitment. She is also waiting on me for a 1:1 review of how COVID-Net
on ChRIS works to help give her background for the outreach, which I am
scheduling as I write this :)
- Jatin Ahuja is looking at
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_contributor-support/issues/3 but we
haven't checked in with him in over a couple of weeks and need to do that.
- Rob Blake will hopefully be working with Bill on CI/CD tasks - we have
not been able to check-in with him for a few weeks.
- Jonathan Gershater has been working on a competitive analysis for
ChRIS / chrisproject.org, but we haven't been able to check in with him
for a few weeks.
- Roman Luks has been working through some issues getting ChRIS up and
running on a RHEL CSB system:
https://github.com/FNNDSC/ChRIS_contributor-support/issues/2 Any insight
into some of the issues he's hitting would be appreciated, especially if
you have experience getting docker/docker-compose running on RHEL CSB.
